Wilma Jean Schindler-Sharish, PhD., age 82, passed away on February 27, 2018.
Born in Cleveland, she lived in Rootstown most of her life and graduated from Kent State University. Wilma Jean retired from the University of Tennessee after 31 years of service. She enjoyed reading, watching QVC and talking to relatives on the phone. Wilma Jean’s passion was educating future educators in Special Education.
Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Sharish and parents, Wilbert and Martha Schindler, she is survived by her brother, Roger Schindler (Gloria); sisters, Evelyn Bryan, Karen Seigle (Ken) and Irene Schindler; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, 1 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service on Monday, from 12 to 1 p.m. The family suggests memorials to the Brimfield Fire and Police Department.
