William Thomas "Bill" Witmyer

"Together Again" William Thomas “Bill” Witmyer, age 88, passed away on December 15, 2017 with his daughters by his side. Born in Akron, he lived in the area all of his life and graduated from Tallmadge High School. Bill served in Panama in the U.S. Army, and retired from PPG and MK Architectural Metal, Inc. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf, carpentry and playing cards. Preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie; and sisters, Marie and Sara, he is survived by daughters, Vickie and Bonnie (fiancé, Jim); granddaughter, Kara (Tim); great-granddaughter, Colette; sister, Louise; many nieces and nephews; and faithful canine companion, Mary. Friends and family will be received Tuesday (TODAY), from 5 to 7 p.m.; and Wednesday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will be Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Nelson Carter officiating. Burial will follow at North Canton Cemetery.
