LAKEMORE -- William W. “Bill” Strittmatter, age 75, went home to be with the Lord on September 1, 2016.
Born in Bakerton, Pa., he lived most of his life in Lakemore and retired from General Motors after 31 years of service. Bill was a graduate of Hoban High School and authored the Christian Committee to Teach Bible Law, which can be viewed at www.firstchurchoftheinternet.org.
Preceded in death by his parents, Walter E. and Bernice (Murphy), he is survived by his loving wife, Linda; sons, David (Sharon), Russell (Heather) and Bryon (Kim); four grandchildren; and siblings, Robert, James (Juanita), Thomas (Shirley), Margaret Geiger, Paul, and Lynda (Thomas) Mihaly.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312, where a brief service will be held at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Humane Society of Greater Akron or the Battered Women’s Shelter.
