"Together Again"
William D. Maxwell “Bill”, age 87, went home to be with the Lord May 4, 2018.
Born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on March 16, 1931 to William D. Jr. and Mary Jane, Bill was a lifetime area resident. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, where he received a Purple Heart. Bill was employed with Ohio Bell for 32 years until his retirement on May 31, 1986. His life was centered around God and his family. Bill’s greatest joy was being a member of God’s Kingdom!
Preceded in death by his parents; wife of 60 years, Doris; and daughter-in-law, Emilia; he is survived by sons, David (Kathy) and Daniel; daughter, Mary Ann (Jim); grandsons, Daniel (Rebecca) and Eric (Danielle); great grandchildren, Isabella, Rosalie and Emilie.
A memorial service for Bill will be held at Goodyear Heights Baptist Church, 1767 Goodyear Blvd., Akron, Ohio 44305 on May 20, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. (during the regular worship service) with Pastor Ed Witchey officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Private burial will take place at Sand Fork Cemetery in Sand Fork, West Virginia.
The family would like to thank Bill’s loving friend and caregiver and also the staff of Summa Hospice.
