“I had a good life”

William Cecil “Bill” Reynolds, age 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, February 27, 2014 at home with his family by his side, after a courageous three-year battle with Bladder Cancer and Heart Disease.

He was a life resident of the area, graduating from Ellet High School in 1961. Bill retired from Lockheed Martin with 35 years and two months of service. He was a member of Suffield United Church of Christ. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, going out to dinner on Friday night with his friends, muscle cars (his ’67 Chevelle) and long rides in the Miata.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William H. Reynolds; mother, Edrie Reynolds Buza; stepfather, Mike Buza; father-in-law, Lloyd D. Boniphant; brother-in-law, Bruce A. Boniphant; and sister-in-law, Robin Sue Boniphant. He is survived by his wife, Brenda of 49-1/2 years; son, Brian Reynolds (Heather) and grandsons, Scott and Ryan; daughter, Shawn Christine Hood (Mike) and granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Laura; son, Brett Reynolds (Tanya) and grandchildren, Brandon, Nathan and Jenna; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lula and Gene Andrews; brother-in-law, Don Boniphant; sister-in-law, Barbara Pittillo (John); stepbrothers, Jack Buza (Diana), Frank Buza (Carla); sisters, Val Daugherty (Tony), Julie Ozbolt (Tom), Kathy Croskey (Jim), Sue Newmann (Skip); nieces and nephews; and good friends, Doug Rodgers and Nora Kerr.

The family would like to thank both doctors Michael Hughes and Dennis Bentley for giving Bill more time in life, and also Akron General Visiting Nurse Service Hospice Care, especially nurse Becky who was with him at the end. A special thank you to the kind and caring members of the Suffield UCC, and to Pastor Barry Bordenkircher and good friend, Pastor Wally Scofield.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.), where funeral service will also be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastors Wally Scofield and Barry Bordenkircher officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Hartville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Suffield United Church of Christ, 1115 State Route 43, Mogadore, OH 44260.
