William H. Bragwell

William H. “Bill” Bragwell, 87, went home to be with the Lord on January 17, 2016. 

Born in Steubenville, Ohio, Bill lived in the Akron area most of his life. He was employed with Ohio Edison for 23 years. Prior to his employment with Ohio Edison, Bill was a pastor at Cottage Grove Assembly of God. He also served on the Springfield Township Police Department for eight years, he was a volunteer on the Springfield Fire Department for eight years and was a Springfield Township Trustee for eight years. Bill was a longtime member of Lakeview Lighthouse Church in Akron. 

Preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Billie; and son, Randy; Bill is survived by his daughter, Darniel (Lamoyne) Carpenter of Akron; son, William L. (Beverly) of Uniontown; and daughter, Cristie (Thomas) Rock of Akron; seven grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Leonard Parker; and sisters, Betty and Donna. 

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Friday, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron/Ellet, Ohio 44312. Funeral service Friday, 1:30 p.m., with Pastor Dwayne Ray officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Lakeview Lighthouse Church, 1065 Kubler Street, Akron, Ohio 44312.
