Wilborn Emmitt Thomas, 80, passed away November 7, 2013.

He was born in Independence, Louisiana and lived in Mogadore most of his life. Tom served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired in 1984 as the Manager of the Commercial Loan Department of Bank One (formerly Firestone Bank), and the University of Akron where he was a cashier from 1965-1984. Tom also worked for several years with the Akron Board of Education transporting children.

Preceded in death by his wife, Patti Thomas in 1995. He is survived by wife, Millie; son, John (Susan) of Albany, LA; daughters, Cindy (Bill) Summerfield of Mogadore, and Karen (Kurt) Richards of Westerville; grandchildren, Nicole (Jason) Watkins, Tim Summerfield, Meredith (Bill) Doughty, Audrey (Ryan) Gonzalez, Nealon Richards, Jackson Richards, John Austin and Joshua Thomas; great grandchildren, Jason, Mercedes, Lucas and Cambrie; stepson, Jeff (Candice) Cathey of Barberton and their children, Rebecca and Joshua; brother, Curtis Thomas of Louisiana.

Friends may call 9:30-11 a.m. Monday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Avenue, Mogadore, Ohio 44260 with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor K. W. Lawrence officiating. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Millheim Baptist Church, 2661 Hayne Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 or Light House Baptist Church, 30997 Horseshoe Road, Independence, LA 70443.
