Wanda M. Tyson “Nan”, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2017, after a brief illness and is now singing with the angels.
Born in Middletown, Kentucky to Herbert and Beatrice (McKnight) Bowman, Wanda lived in the Uniontown area most of her life. She retired as an auditor with Goodyear Aerospace/Aircraft Braking Systems after 27 years of service. She was a very active and longtime member of Mogadore Christian Church.
Preceded in death by daughters, Tamara and Rhonda Horton; and step-sons, Steven and Louis Tyson; sister, Juanita Jolley; and brother, Ronald Bowman. Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Jim; step-daughter, Aleta (Michael) Fisher; and daughter-in-law, Shelise; grandchildren, Valerie (Adam) Coleman, Heather Leek, Daniel Tyson and Melany Leek; great grandchildren, McKayla, Isabella and Lincoln. Wanda will be missed by special niece, Nancy Johnson and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, from 12 to 1 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation Thursday at 1 p.m. with Dr. Eugene F. Higgins officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park.
