Vivian Gaug, age 87, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2014.
A life resident of Akron, she had worked in Administration at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for many years, and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Vivian was currently a member of Stow Presbyterian Church, and had been an active member of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church for many years, serving as an elder, deacon, Sunday School teacher and youth leader. She was very proud to have coordinated the Goodyear Red Cross Bloodmobile for many years. Vivian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be truly missed.
Preceded in death by her husband, Paul in 1995, she is survived by sons, Paul (Lynda), Gregory (Marcia), and Mark (Marie); grandchildren, Melissa (Taylor), Andrew, Matthew (Charleigh), Kimberly (Timothy), Jackie (Michael) and Steven; and five great-grandchildren. Vivian’s family would like to thank Hospice of Summa and the staff at Stow Glen for their loving care.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, 2406 Ardwell Avenue, Akron, Ohio 44312, with Rev. Brian Nutt and Rev. David Weyrick officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends will be received at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, where a Deacon and Elder service will take place at 7 p.m. Further calling at the church from 10 a.m until service time Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to the Stow or Oak Hill Presbyterian churches.
