Vito J. Panaciulli, 96, went home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2024.
Born in Akron, he lived in New York where he met the love of his life, Christine. They later moved back to the Akron area to raise their family. Vito served in the United States Army and was employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber. He was a member of St. Matthew Parish and liked to garden, bake, and go bike riding. He also enjoyed traveling and going on cruises.
Vito was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Christine; brother, Larry; and grandson, James “Jimmy.” He is survived by his sons, Vito (Ann) and Michael (Julie); daughter, Gina (Randy) Gaug; grandchildren, Vito, Erin, Michael, Jessica, Sabrina, and Sandra; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Cosmo Panaciulli; and sister, Esther DeStefano.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday, April 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 1st at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew Parish, 2603 Benton Ave. Akron, OH 44312 with Father Michael Williamson presiding. Procession will form at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
