Virginia Irene Smith (Boggs)

Virginia Irene Smith (Boggs) was born September 12, 1922 in Kenmore, Ohio to Guy and Effie Marsh Boggs. She graduated from Kenmore High School in 1940. On March 23, 1942 she married Oscar L. Smith who passed away January 1, 1988. She was employed for many years at Green Cross Hospital, later Cuyahoga Falls General from which she retired. She and her husband were very active members of the Arlington Baptist Chapel where she also played the piano. 

In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by son, Oscar Jr.; grandson, Duane C. Smith; one great-grandson; one great-great-grandson; brother, Guy Boggs; and sister, Opal Boggs Evans. She is survived by her sons, Leonard Smith (Barbara) of Lakemore with whom she made her home, and Guy Smith Sr. (Mary) of Akron; grandchildren, Jim Smith (Betty), Guy Smith Jr., Todd Smith (Sheryl) and Greg Smith of Akron; Danny Smith (Diana) of Springfield Township, Lori Smith Starcher (Shawn) of Jackson Township, Michelle Smith Patterson of Akron, Carolyn Smith Johann of Pueblo, Colorado, and Stacy Smith Frum (Bobby) of Akron; granddaughter-in-law, Jennifer Smith of Plainfield; great-grandchildren, Brandon Smith (C.J.), Mariah Smith, Samantha Snider (Taylor), Patrick Smith, Ashley Smith, Emily Smith, Jeremiah Smith, Greg Smith Jr., Ethan Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, Sadie Smith, Anna Smith, Liam Smith, Marysa Starcher, Cory T. (Shelby) Smith, Jef Johan Jr., Cassandra Foster, Katrina Foster, Jeremy Frum (Mary), Robert Frum, David Frum and Ashley Frum; many great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Edna Hartschuh. 

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron/Ellet, Ohio 44312, followed by funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Frum officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to Grace Hospice of Akron, 3515 Massillon Road, Uniontown, Ohio 44685, or the charity of your choice.
