Virginia Ann Calich (nee Wilson)

Virginia Ann Calich, age 92, went home to Heaven on December 8, 2020. Born in Gravel Switch, Kentucky, she lived most of her life in Akron, Ohio. The last six years of her life she moved to Wilmington, Ohio to be with family. Virginia taught elementary school for 30 years. She was also a gospel pianist for several churches and the Lee Family Singers. Playing piano for the Lord was her lifelong passion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth Wilson, and her husband, Robert Calich Jr. She leaves her sister, Lucile Blakey; many cousins, step children and step grandchildren. Services will be held on Monday, December 14, at the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312 with Pastor Scott Rockich officiating. Visitation begins at 12 p.m. with the service following at 1 p.m. Burial follows at Hillside Memorial Park. Masks and social distancing protocols will be followed.
