Virginia Alma Muir, 97, passed away June 15, 2013.

Born July 2, 1915 in Houtzdale, Pennsylvania, Virginia lived most of her life in the Akron area and was a member of Goodyear Heights Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Luther Muir; grandson, Michael Krzykoski; parents, Ecra and Alma Shoff; five brothers and seven sisters; she is survived by son, Edward Muir; daughter, Lynne (Stephen) Krzykoski; grandchildren, Lora Putnam, Lisa Muir, Christine (Brian) Billers and John Krzykoski; great grandchildren, Brett Putnam, Katie Putnam, Leah Floyd, Nathaniel Muir, Chloe Muir, and Brody Muir-Johnson; brother, Lester Shoff of Santa Clara, California; and sister-in-law, Loretta Muir of Vero Beach, Florida. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Senior Independence Hospice and special caregivers, Allison Genet and Sylvia Cook.

Funeral service Wednesday, 5 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44312 with Rev. John Phillips officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service Wednesday, from 3 to 5 p.m. Private interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Senior Independence Hospice, 1815 West Market St., Akron, Ohio 44313.
