Virgil L. Hebert, Jr.
NORTH CANTON -- Virgil L. Hebert, Jr., born January 11, 1931 in Akron, Ohio went to be with the Lord November 8, 2017 after a sudden illness.
A Naval Veteran of the Korean War, Virgil was a Life Member of the VFW National Home. Virgil and Mary retired early from The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in 1987, where they met.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 34 years, Marybelle L. (Gershom) Hebert; parents, Virgil L. Hebert, Sr. and Ruth M. (Cole) Hebert; sister and brother-in-law, Rita (Hebert) Lindisch and Vincent Lindisch. He is survived by children, Robert and Valerie Hebert of Houston, Texas, Ruth and James Mitzel of Green; grandchildren, Robert A. Hebert, Jr., Jennifer and Gregory Borowy, Julie Mitzel (fiancé, Alexander Khlystov); great-grandchildren, Miley Ann and Adeline Elizabeth Borowy; brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Sandra) Hebert and Thomas (Sandra) Hebert; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Calling hours will be Sunday, November 12, from 2 to 5 p.m. with Rosary following at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 13, 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 241 S. Main Street, North Canton with Rev. Msgr. James A. Clarke presiding. Interment at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to VFW Post 8975, 1649 Krumroy Road, Akron, OH 44306.
