Vida F. Leaver

Vida F. Leaver, age 91, passed away on October 22, 2013.

She was born in Northampton, Ohio and lived in the area all of her life. Vida was employed as a bookkeeper for Metropolitan Housing, and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and meeting with her prayer group. She was a member of Hillwood Chapel in Uniontown for over 50 years, where she was very active in church activities. Vida loved the Lord, and her greatest desire was for her family and friends to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Preceded in death by daughter, Patricia Nichols; and sisters, Norma Fleshman and Audrey Couch, Vida is survived by children, Vida (Gary) Shaffer of Ellet, Sam “George” (Janyce) Leaver of New Franklin, Jack (Patty) Leaver of Coventry, Beth Kelly of Coventry, and Jeffrey (Karen) Leaver of Akron; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and sister, Sylvia (Don) Tisch of Cuyahoga Falls.

The family will receive friends at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, where funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with Vida’s grandson, Todd Moser officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.
