Veda R. Newman

Our family is thankful for the life of Veda Ruth Newman. Veda Newman was born January 21, 1924 in Braxton County, West Virginia. The daughter of Albert and Rosa Chaplin, she went home to be with the Lord on May 26, 2013.

Mrs. Newman was a member of The Chapel and she retired from Summit County Department of Human Resources in 1989. Her family and faith in the Lord meant everything to her. We will always cherish and remember our loving mother who sacrificially devoted herself to her children and family throughout her entire life.

Veda was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence (Bud) F. Newman Jr. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ruby Norris and Gladys Gerber. Veda is survived by her son, Fred (Pamela) Newman of Lewis Center, Ohio; and daughter, Jody (Mark) McRoberts of Green, Ohio; and her grandchildren, Christopher (Stephanie), Eric and Andrew Newman, and Kate McRoberts. She is also survived by brothers, Glen Chaplin and Albert (Mary) Chaplin. We wish to extend our appreciation to Dr. Feltrup, the staff at Altercare of Hartville, Dr. Mark Smith, and the staff of 5N and the Palliative Care Unit at Akron City Hospital for caring for our mother.
