Veda P. Bell

Veda P. Bell, 80, passed away November 4, 2013.

Born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on October 29, 1933, Veda grew up in the Akron area and later moved to the Hartville area as an adult. She was a dedicated sports fan who loved to watch all of the local teams play.

Preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Tracy Fortney; she is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert; sons, Brett (Dr. Patricia Muntz) and Robert (Barbara); grandchildren, Ray, Nick, Michael and Patrick; brother, Kenny; sisters, Evelyn and Violet; many nieces, nephews and great friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the angels at the Akron General Cancer Center, Doctors, Joseph Iemma, Stephen Heupler, John Petrus, and Renee from the housekeeping department for the flowers on Veda’s last birthday.

Visiting Thursday 6-8 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44312. Funeral Service will be held Friday, 1 p.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Ronald Bryant, Chaplain of the Springfield Township Fire Department, officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to Akron Community Foundation, American Heart Association or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
