Thomas L. Watson, 81 of Hampton Twp., Pennsylvania, died Thursday, September 20, 2012 in UPMC-St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Watson was a graduate of Ellet High School and the University of Akron. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church in Akron. Tom loved golfing, traveling and enjoyed volunteering in the community.
He is survived by his wife, Janis Watson of Hampton Twp., PA; son, Steve (Debbie) Watson of Syracuse, NY; daughter, Karen Watson of Hampton Twp. PA; grandchildren, David, Mike and Beth Watson; sister, Donna (Don) Boston of Akron; nieces and nephews, David (Jan) Boston; Denise (Perry) Lakins of Akron; grand-nieces and nephews, John Boston, Julie Boston, Jeffrey Lakins, and Laura Lakins all of Akron.
Funeral services will be held Monday 1:00 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Rev. Brian Nutt officiating. Burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call Monday from 11 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in Tom’s name to the charity of your choice.
