Thomas M. Misanko, age 74, passed away in his home September 7, 2021 surrounded by his family. Tom valiantly battled leukemia for the last 14 years. He lost the fight after being diagnosed with brain cancer in May.
Born in Akron, he lived the last thirty years in Uniontown. He graduated from Garfield High School and earned his Associate’s Degree from the University of Akron. Tom worked at B&W as a mechanical engineer where he enjoyed participating in their golf, bowling, and softball leagues. He also enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and traveling to Florida to spend time with his grandchildren.
Tom was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He felt blessed to be part of such a loving, caring faith family and drew his strength from them.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Anne Misanko and his infant son, David. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cynthia; sons, Andrew and Joseph Misanko; grandchildren, Tommy, Lilly, and Bobby Misanko; and brothers, Patrick and Dennis Misanko.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 16th at 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2952 Edison St. NW, Uniontown, OH 44685. Masks are encouraged. In lieu of flowers a donation in Tom’s memory may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
