Terry L. Penson

Terry L. Penson, age 66, passed away unexpectedly on August 8, 2013.

Born in New Brighton, Penn., he lived in the Akron and Uniontown areas for the last 40 years. Terry served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was employed with the U.S. Postal Service on Wolf Ledges in Akron. He enjoyed cruises, the Steelers, and visiting the grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his father, Everett, he is survived by his wife of 21 years, Arlene; sons, Scott (Mari) Lucas and John “Luke” Lucas; daughters, Stephanie and Jennifer; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Dominic, Kaleb, Kara (Cory), Stephen, Jack, and one on the way; great-granddaughter, Sophea; mom, Laverne; sisters, Cheryl and Susan; and brother-in-law, David Hollingsworth.

Funeral service will be Monday, 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312, with Pastor Joel Cochran officiating. Military honors will follow the service by Mogadore VFW Post 8487. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of service.
