Terry Lee Bower, 72, passed away on August 16, 2015 following complications from a stroke.
Born in Akron on October 18, 1942, Terry was a warm and generous man who never met a stranger, always said what was on his mind and lived a very full life on his own terms. A graduate of the University of Akron, he practiced law for four decades. In life, Terry was an avid Cleveland sports fan who enjoyed golf, a good joke and a long run at the craps table.
Terry is preceded in death by his son, Brett; parents, Golda and Gregory; and sister, Judy. He deeply loved and leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Jayne (Gooden); sons, Jonathan and wife Amy (Bowling), Lucas and wife Katie (McNair); daughter, Kate. He was incredibly proud of his grandchildren, Caleb, Ethan, Evelyn and Fiona. He also leaves behind his sister, Karen (Don) McGhee; many nieces and nephews, honorary kids and many other beloved family members and friends. He was very much loved and will be unbelievably missed.
Family and friends will be received Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312, where Wayfarer Lodge 789 F&AM will conduct a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor John Wiseman officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Akron City Hospital Critical Care Towers.
