Sue R. Kachovec

Sue R. Kachovec, age 87, passed away July 25, 2013.

She was born in Akron and lived in the area most of her life. Sue was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and The Red Hat Society. Also a member of Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church, the Silver Stars and Ladies Guild, she enjoyed crafting, making rosaries for the church hospital ministry, cooking and baking Slovakian food.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mike J. on December 4, 1990; four brothers; and five sisters. She is survived by sons, Michael Jr. and Robert A. of Akron, Steven P. of Florida; son and daughter-in-law, Carl Joseph and Peggy of Akron; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Mark Akers of Akron; grandchildren, Steven J., AnaMarie, Krista, Julianne, and Benjamin Kachovec, Doug (Lindsay) and Matt (Boni) Akers; and great-granddaughters, Victoria, Madison and Avery Akers.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 11 a.m. at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Road, Akron, Ohio 44312, with Father David Halaiko presiding. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312, with wake services at 7 p.m.
