Steven Malachosky
Steven Malachosky, age 100, passed away suddenly on January 12, 2019 after a brief illness.
Born in Akron, Steven was a lifelong area resident. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII. Steven retired after 38 years of service from Firestone Tire & Rubber where he did a lot of traveling while working in the Development Department. He loved collecting and showing antique cars with his wife Evelyn. Steven was a wonderful husband and a good friend to many.
Preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Anna Malachosky; and four brothers; he is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 77 years, Evelyn; special niece and nephew, Roberta and Earl Knox; and great nephew, Rev. William (Julie) Knox; sister, Julia; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends and family will be received Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon, immediately following the visitation Thursday, with Rev. William Knox officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park where military honors will be conducted. The family suggests memorials to Dick Goddard’s Pet Foundation, P.O.
