Following a brief hospital stay, Steve Whitaker, age 75, of Mogadore, passed away peacefully after complications from a stroke on Saturday, October 7, 2017 surrounded by his family. The family and all who knew Steve suffer the loss of a truly kind and gentle man.
Steve shared his life in full with his loving wife, Sue. They appreciated each other every day and were strengthened by their personal faith. Steve was forever proud of the goodness of his daughter, Laura Carpenter (Ric); and of his son, Michael (Jackie), both couples of Medina, Ohio. He had wonderful relations…sometimes serious, more often silly…with his two younger brothers, Roger (Susan) and Tim (Chris). Steve simply adored his three granddaughters, Lindsey, Paige and Sarah. His five nieces and nephew, Nicole, Michelle, Abbie, Rachel and Paul, knew that they were blessed to have such a special uncle.
Steve had the creative eye of an accomplished artist, a heart of gold, and the endurance to be a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians.
