Skip Waser

In loving memory of Skip Waser. Born January 21, 1944 in Akron, Ohio, he passed away April 10, 2012 at home in Northville, Mich.

Skip is survived by his loving wife, Ruthayn. He was a dedicated father to son, bryan Waser; daughter and son-in-law, Brooke and Scott Hill; and a devoted Papa to Kelley and Ryan Hill and Mia Waser.

Preceded in death by mother, Elizabeth Waser; brother, Jeff Waser; nephew, Micheal Runci; brother-in-law, Robert RUnci; and father-in-law, Sanford Foster; he is survived by sister, Jennifer Runci; sister-in-law, Debbie Waser Barnhouse; brother-in-law, Harold Foster; and mother-in-law, Hannah Foster. Also survived by nephews, Major Joseph Runci and wife, Tanya (and their children, David and Owen); Eric Waser and Adam Waser; nieces, Robin (Steven) Brubaker (Elise and Elizabeth), April (Ken) Sharrock (Alissa, Julia and Gabriel), Wendie (Chris) Stevens (Katelyn and Christopher); and nephew, Troy Foster.

He was a 1962 graduate of Kenmore High School and graduated from the University of Akron in 1966 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Skip retired from Goodyear Tuire as Director of O.E. Tires in 2003 after 37 years. In December 2010, he retired as Commerical Director for North America after six years at Alcoa Wheel. Skip was well-respected by all who worked with him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44312, with Pastor Brad Trask officiating. Burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
