Shirley J. Mason

Shirley J. Mason, 83, went home to be with the Lord and was reunited with her husband, Roger on October 17, 2012.

Shirley lived all of her life in the Akron area, and attended Springfield Baptist Church and Clearview United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Roger; she is survived by children, Judy (Denny) Speirs, James (Marie) and Robert (Kim); grandchildren, Johnny, Laurie (Ron), Tammy (Mike), Denny (Danielle), Jennifer (Chris), Pamela, Roger, Alicia, Tyler and Joshua; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline (William) Barna; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Chapel Hill Retirement Community and to Shirley’s caregivers for their amazing care. Funeral service Saturday, 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44312, with Pastor Gregory Partridge officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
