Sharon E. Godwin

Sharon E. Godwin, age 63, passed away on March 12, 2015. Sharon was born in Akron, and enjoyed cooking, sewing and quilting. She was a member of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed volunteering there.

Preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Tryphenia Crisp; sister, Caroline Florea; and brother, Brian Crisp, she is survived by her husband of 36 years, Sherwood “Woody”; son, Brian Godwin; daughters, Katie Parsell and Jennifer Godwin; grandchildren, Brianna, Sarah and Trenton; and sister, Susan Smith.

The family will receive friends Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312; and Saturday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, 2406 Ardwell Ave., Akron, Ohio 44312, where funeral service will follow on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brian Nutt officiating. Burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to the Vacation Bible School Program at Oak Hill Presbyterian Church; or Best Buddy Pet Rescue, P.O.
