April 27, 1927 — June 19, 2018

Sarah Mae (Shrock) Miller Sarah Mae (Shrock) Miller, 91, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 5:00 in the evening. Sarah loved others, her family, and Jesus well. In her words and her action she always pointed to Jesus. “God is love”….”Always be kind”….This is the legacy that was left by our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Sarah lived in Hartville for most of her life and was a member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church. Sarah was married to the late Howard R. Miller Sr. for 50 years. She was the original cook at the Hartville Kitchen; her recipes are still enjoyed by many today. She ran the lunch stand at the Hartville Flea Market for many years and loved to spend time at the Hartville Thrift Shoppe where she was a constant volunteer until January 2017. She enjoyed quilting, making knotted comforters, and loving and spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sarah is survived by her children, Carol and Vernon Sommers, Howard and Marsha Miller, Wayne and Kim Miller, Ruby and Rich Wittmer, Nancy and Marion Coblentz, and Marlene and Blaine Miller; 20 grandchildren, Scott and Kami, Gary and Charla, Jill and Jade, Amy and Mark, Christa and Jimmy, Karen, Zach and Sarah, Emily and Dariush, Mary and Zach, Seth and Lindsay, Ray and Megan, Jared and Jalayne, Heather and Derek, Eric and Briana, Janelle and Josh, Cody and Jeana, Logan, J.J., Morgan, and DeShawna; 40 great grandchildren; sisters, Edna Wittmer and Erma Beachy; brothers, Noah and Dorothy Shrock, Melvin and Mary Ellen Shrock, Henry and Dorothy Shrock; brothers-in-law, Ervin Helmuth, LeRoy Yoder, Harold and JoAnn Miller; sisters-in-law, Alice Sommers and Mabel Campbell. Friends and family will be received Friday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Maple Grove Mennonite Church, 2121 Smith Kramer Street N.E., Hartville, Ohio 44632. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Maple Grove Mennonite Church, with Pastors Myron Weaver and Verle Brubaker officiating. All are welcome to attend the Graveside Service, officiated by Pastor Henry Shrock, at Walnut Grove Cemetery Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Hartville Thrift Shoppe, 938 W. Maple Street, Hartville, Ohio 44632.
