Sarah L. Kagarise

Sarah Kagarise, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Sarah was born on February 17, 1928 in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Huntingdon High School and Altoona General Hospital School of Nursing. Sarah married Herbert Kagarise in October 1950. They lived in Ellet, Mogadore, and Uniontown until moving to Westerville in 2017. Sarah worked as a nurse for a few years and then stayed home to raise 4 children for 18 years. She then worked at OH Summers Elementary School for over 20 years; starting as a substitute lunch room lady and ending as head cook. In retirement Sarah enjoyed traveling, reading, and gardening. Her family was her pride and joy, and she loved spending time with them. She is preceded in death by her husband Herb; parents, Elby and Theresa Boring; 3 sisters; and 3 brothers. Sarah is survived by children; Gary (Nancy), Dave (Debbie), Lisa (Chuck), and Kevin (Diane); 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and also by lifelong friends from Miller Avenue United Church of Christ.
