Ruth E. Sowers

Ruth E. Sowers was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She left this world on December 1, 2021, at the age of 99. She was born to Loyal and Sabina Berlin in Wadsworth, Ohio on November 6, 1922. Ruth enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, gardening, doing puzzles, reading her bible, and watching the Cleveland Indians. Ruth was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family and church, where she was a long-time member of Arlington Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by Robert Shank, William B. Kennedy, Harry Sowers, and Barbara Shank. Ruth is survived by her sons, David (Kay) Shank and Bill (Jackie) Kennedy; daughter Laura (Tim) Kolp; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Friends and family will be received Tuesday, December 7th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
