Ruth J. Hinkle

Ruth J. Hinkle, 94, passed away peacefully the morning of December 27, 2012.

Ruth was born January 8, 1918 in Akron, Ohio and lived her life in the Akron area. She was employed at Goodyear during World War II, producing gas masks to aid in the war effort that her brothers were a part of. She devoted her life to her husband and raising her three sons.

Ruth was preceded in death by Donald, her husband of 61 years. She is survived by her sons, Laurance D. (Loretta), Richard E. (Judy) and Harold C. (Charlotte); five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sister, Lorraine Barnes of Norwalk. The family would like to express sincere gratitude for the care and concern given to our mother by the staff at Ridgewood Healthcare Center.

Funeral services Saturday, 12 noon at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44312 with Pastor Ron Shultz officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday. The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311, or a favorite charity.
