Russell D. Wymer

Russell Dean Wymer, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on November 29, 2022. Russ was born July 3, 1928 in New Baltimore, Ohio, where he lived growing up, often helping his dad on his muck farm.

He met the love of his life Bonnie Ruble and they were married March 31, 1951. They enjoyed 42 years of marriage until Bonnie passed away. Russ lovingly and sacrificially cared for her in her illness.

Russ was an insurance man with Western and Southern and then Prudential until his retirement. He was a long time member of Uniontown Methodist Church. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, making stained glass, and volunteering at Uniontown Park. He was a member of the Uniontown Lions Club and enjoyed the many bus trips they took. Russ was known to always have a good joke at the ready. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and took great delight in watching his three granddaughters play softball, volleyball and basketball. As his family grew, he also enjoyed being with his granddaughters’ husbands and his great-grandchildren.

Russ was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie and his son Gary Wymer. He will be deeply missed and is survived by his daughter Gayle (Joe) Hershberger; granddaughters Abby (Nahum) Preston, Tessa (Nick) Thompson, Carly (Dan) Montgomery; 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Our family would like to thank the staff at the Gables of Green for their loving and compassionate care during his two years of living there.

Friends and family will be from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday, December 8^th at Evermore Community Church, 1470 Smith Kramer St. Hartville. Funeral service at 11 o’clock Friday, December 9^th with a burial following at Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery.
