Rudolph C. "Rudy" Bergman

SPRINGFIELD TWP. - Rudolph C. “Rudy” Bergman, age 90, went home to be with the Lord September 29, 2018. Born in Akron, Ohio, he was a lifetime area resident. Rudy was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a longtime, dedicated member of Springfield Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Delores; he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jim Hosterman; grandchildren, Shannon, Seth (Sondra), Michelle (Brent), Ryan (Katie), Jill (Brian), Becky (Scott), Renee (Dustin); and many great grandchildren. Rudy’s family would like to thank his special caregivers for their love and concern. Friends and family will be received Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.). Funeral service will be Friday, 11 a.m., at Springfield Baptist Church, 1920 Krumroy Road, Akron, Ohio 44312, with Pastor Larry Baldridge officiating. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service at the church Friday, from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at East Liberty Cemetery.
