Ruby (Morris) Tengea, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on June 28, 2018.
Born in Fairview, W. Va. to parents, Joe and Retha Morris, she lived in Akron, Ohio most of her life and was employed at Sears and Berneath Rexall Drug for many years. Ruby’s hobbies included cake baking and decorating, and she also enjoyed church activities and shopping. Ruby loved family gatherings on holidays and hosting out of town family. She was a kind, giving, caring and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by her son, William R. Huey; grandson, James L. Huey; brothers, Virgil and Joseph “Buck”; and sisters, Bonnie, Hallie and Erma, Ruby is survived by her husband of 39 years, John W. Tengea, Jr.; son, Tim (Brenda) Tengea; daughter, Joan (Mark) Washburn; grandchildren, Michelle (Matt) Rhodes, Jackie (Keith) Bragg, Nicole Huey, Stephanie (Ryan) Wilkinson, Joey Washburn and Maddie Washburn; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Hunter, Zachary, Jordan, Caleb, Kane, Lillian and Travis; brother, Russell; sisters, Delores and Noke; several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Family and friends will be received Monday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Joe Burkhardt officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron. The family suggests memorials to Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 E. Market Street, Akron, OH 44308.
