Roy C. Barr

Roy C. Barr, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2017, surrounded by his family. A life resident of Akron, he retired from the Print Department at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 34 years of service. Roy was a member of First Church of the Brethren, and enjoyed attending cruise-ins, tractor shows and swap meets. Preceded in death by his parents, Omar and Effie; sister and brother-in-law, Vesta and Andy Myers; and brother, Bob Barr, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet; son, Ed (Lisa) Barr; sister-in-law, Bea Barr; and numerous cousins and friends. Friends and family will be received Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m., and Friday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home Friday, 11 a.m. with Pastor Tobin Crenshaw officiating. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
