Rosemary Bible

Rosemary Bible Rosemary Bible, 84, was called Home on August 2, 2014.

She was born in Youngstown, Ohio to Alonzo and Blanche Potts, moving to Akron in 1935. Rosemary graduated from Kenmore High School, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Akron where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. She married Maxwell Bible Jr. in 1952 and they moved to Uniontown in 1954 where she lived for the next 51 years. Max passed away in 1982 and Rosemary moved back to Akron in 2005. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a doting grandmother, a faithful friend, had a great sense of humor, an adventurous spirit and was an all-around fun lady.

Rosemary was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Uniontown. In her younger years she taught Sunday school classes and also served as Vacation Bible School Director, Deacon and Elder. She also belonged to Stonecroft Ministries, “KHS 48ers” and “the gang”. Rosemary was a former member of Bible Study Fellowship and Kappa Kappa Iota. She was a trustee of Woods Cemetery. Rosemary worked at the YMCA in Akron and Canton where she was Director of the Health and Recreation Department. Later she taught physical education at Manchester and Springfield High Schools. After retiring from teaching she became an Avon Representative and made Presidents Club for five years. Her last job was at Infocision where she was honored as Employee of the Month. Her lifetime hobby was reading – she loved a good mystery.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 30 years; infants, Andrea, David Ray and Roseanne; and brother, Bill Potts. She is survived by daughter, Jessie (Robert) Yang of Cherry Hill, NJ; son, Maxwell (Lisa) Bible III of Asheville, NC; and granddaughter, Evie Bible.

The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.) Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace United Church of Christ, 13275 Cleveland Avenue, Uniontown, OH 44685 with one hour of visitation prior to service time. Rev. Jeff Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Woods Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Aultman Hospice, 2821 Woodlawn Avenue NW, Canton, OH 44708.
