Rose Ann (Fuchs) (Poor) Deckard

Rose Ann was born in Akron to John and Anna Fuchs on December 14, 1929.

She was a 1947 graduate of Springfield High School and was employed at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Springfield local schools, and Babcock & Wilcox. She had many interests in life, but above all, cherished her relationships with family and many friends. Faith and family were at the foundation of her existence.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Anna Fuchs, husbands John Poor and William Deckard, and great granddaughter Tenley Jayne Riffle.

Rose Ann is survived by her children Vickie Ward, Linda (Tom) Gerber, Karen (Mel) Todaro, Bill (Denise) Deckard, and Susan Deckard. Grandchildren Andrea Riffle, Joshua and Kyle Gerber, Aaron and Ben Bonnell, Michael Deckard, and Christa Jones. Great grandchildren Colin Gerber, Cooper Riffle, Will and Gianna Deckard, Callahan and Deacon Jones, Harper and Blake Bonnell, Henry and William Bonnell, Erika, Jessica and Megan Anderson, and great great granddaughter Kora Brown.

Rose Ann fulfilled her earthly mission and returned Home on her 94th birthday, December 14, 2023.

A shooting star blazed across the night sky, sending her family good tidings that she had reached Eternal Joy. Let us rejoice, knowing she is kicking up her heels, dancing with her loved ones who welcomed her to His Kingdom.

The family would like to thank Summa Hospice and Cornerstone Caregiving for their compassionate and tender care of Rose Ann and the warmth and comfort they provided her family during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Matthew Parish in Akron, Ohio.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday, December 20th from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home 3553 Northdale St. NW, Uniontown, OH 44685. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 21st at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew Parish, 2603 Benton Ave. Akron, OH 44312. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
