Ronald K. Webster

Ronald K Webster, 51, passed away on January 05th, 2022 suddenly of a heart attack. Ron is preceded in death by his father, Richard. Ron is survived by his mother, Edwina; four sisters: Tena, Kimberly (Tommy), Kellie, and Kandy (Ken); and his twin brother Richard. 

Ron graduated from Akron North in 1988 and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy for six years, the majority of those years on a fast attack submarine, the USS Whale SSN-638. Ron went on to earn a bachelor’s of science in computer science from the University of Akron and worked the last 17 years at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Information Technology most recently as a Data Solutions Architect. 

Ron was a loyal son and brother to his family and will be missed immensely by them. His friends remember him as intelligent, funny, humble, generous, and quiet. He enjoyed watching sports, spending time at Portage Lakes, and keeping relevant with the latest technology. Ron’s coworker’s describe him as meticulous, hard-working and someone who could get to the root cause of any problem through research and technical acumen. Ron was more than a colleague, he was a friend. He was so incredibly smart and genuine. He wasn’t afraid to take on a challenge. Ron could be stubborn, but he was also a good listener. He could be reserved, but he commanded a great deal of credibility and technical trust. So when he spoke, his team listened. Even though Ron was reserved, he was witty and funny with an infectious smile. His friendship and his ability to make the team laugh even in the most dismal situations will forever be treasured. The family wishes to thank Ron’s work family at Goodyear for being so caring to them during this difficult time. 

Viewing will be Thursday, January 13th from 11:30AM-12:30PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:30PM at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St NW, Uniontown, OH 44685. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
