Ronald Ernest Hastler, 78, passed away peacefully after a heroic battle with many health problems. He never complained.
Born in Akron on October 9, 1944 to Ernest and Bernice (Boston) Hastler. He attended Springfield High school and enjoyed working in the carpenter shop at Loral Lockheed Martin for many years. He was an avid fan of car racing and attended several Indianapolis 500 races with his dad. Ron was a 32° Mason, a Shriner and Jester.
Preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Sally Cocain, and niece, Veronica Jill Porter (his name sake). He is survived by his wife, Cyndi (Cocain) of 43 years of marriage. He was a loving father to Marlene (Paul) Sparlin and Kimberly (Mark) Harbin; grandchildren, Ryan (Helen) and Aaron Sparlin, Jason (Michelle) and Glen Harbin; great grandchildren, Gus, Sid and Avery; sisters, Sandy (Tom) Murphy, Kathy (Mark) Pollock; nephews, Chris and Bill; nieces, Ellen and Carrie; father-in-law, Bill (Jean) Cocain; and his dearest friend, Cliff Willison.
Private services will be held for Ron’s family. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
Ronnie’s family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses that have taken care of him over the past 13 years, especially Dr. Michael Fritz who was his hero.
