Ronald L. Benfield

Ronald L. Benfield, age 90, passed away on December 10, 2020. Born in Akron on August 29, 1930, he lived in Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Munroe Falls and Tallmadge and was employed with General Tire and Goodyear Tire. Mr. Benfield served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Tallmadge United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by his parents, Dewey C. and Mary G. (Heitzman) Benfield; and his wife of 65 years, Norma J. (McClaren) Benfield, Ronald is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Ann Horak (Rev. Kevin) and Kim Ann Dyer (Daniel); grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, Katie, Eric and Matthew; and eight great-grandchildren. Private services will be held on Tuesday, December 15, with entombment at Hillside Memorial Park. Ronald’s family suggests memorials to Valley Christian Academy, 1037 East Blvd., Aurora, OH 44202.
