Roger D. Hicks Sr.

Roger Dewayne Hicks, Sr., age 81, went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2022.

Born in WV, he lived most of his life in Green, Ohio, with his wife of 63 years, DeLoryes. Roger enjoyed his family, dogs, gardening, antique cars and restoration, cycling, kayaking, and fishing.

Roger is preceded in death by his wife, DeLoryes; son DeWayne; granddaughter, Marinna; parents, Darrel and Velma Hicks; brothers Ricky (Martha) and Ronnie (Bev); and in-laws, Arnold and Geraldine Higgins.

Roger is survived by his loving children, Leona (Bob) Plesz and their children, Danielle (Kermit II), Lauren (CJ), and Bradley (Ashley), Shelly Hicks and her son, Joseph, Cynthia (Jim) Duckworth and their daughters, Cierra, Savannah and Julianna and DeWayne’s sons, Jamie and Joshua; daughters, Amanda, Miranda, Penny, and Tosha. Great-grandchildren include Sivana, Mackenzie, Brooklynn, Brylee, Beckett, Luke, Peter, Annabelle, Kaylee, Carson, Cory, Joseph, Caleb, Kermit III, Kristopher, Charlotte, McKenzie, and Ruby.

Friends and family will be received Wednesday, 12/28, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday, 12/29, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.), where the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. on Thursday 12/29 with Cynthia Duckworth presiding. Burial will follow at Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery.
