Roberta J. French

Roberta Jean “Snowie” French, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. She was born May 5, 1938 in Ashland, OH to Richard and Florence Clark.

Roberta graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1956. While in high school, she met her future husband, James French. They were married on October 4, 1958 and recently celebrated 66 years of marriage.

Roberta attended Kent State University where she studied accounting. She worked the majority of her career as a bookkeeper for Heritage Fireplace. After retirement she and Jim moved to The Villages, FL where they spent 20 wonderful years before returning to Ohio in 2020. While in The Villages, she took up many new activities and made many friends. Roberta loved Swensons, the QVC Channel, baking, and spoiling her family. Many family members, friends, and neighbors were the recipients of her famous cookies and fudge!

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Jane Held and Joan Daugherty, daughter-in-law Janelle French, granddaughter Wednesday French, and brother-in-law Robert French. She is survived by her husband Jim, sons Dennis (Karen) French, Michael (Sharon) French Sr., grandchildren Michael French Jr., Jessica (Miguel) Goncalves, Jimmie (Kim) Ralston, Ashli Royer (Jon Conley), sister Nancy Branch, and sister-in-law Nancy French, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Calling hours will be held on March 29, 2025 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home in Uniontown, OH with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 with Pastor Dale Saylor officiating. Casual attire please. A private committal service will be held at a later date.
