Robert Wieland

December 10, 1942 — May 9, 2015

Robert Wieland, 72, passed away May 9, 2015 after a short illness. He was born in Akron and was a life resident of the area. Robert served in the U.S. Air Force and retired in 1998 from Lockheed Martin after 30+ years of service. He was a member of Lakeview Lighthouse Church and was an auctioneer. Robert played in local country bands, the Country Buckeyes and Country Wheels. Preceded in death by his son, Jerry Lee; he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Roean F.; grandchildren, Jerry, Travos and Heather Wieland; brother, Lee (Mary) Wieland. The family would like to extend special thanks to Pastor Dwayne Ray, wife, Kathy; and members of Lakeview Lighthouse Church, Tony and Connie for their help and support. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 1:00 p.m. at Lakeview Lighthouse Church, 1065 Kubler Trail, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Pastor Dwayne Ray officiating. Burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park where military rites will be conducted. Friends may call at the church Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time.
