Robert E. Clark

Robert E. Clark, age 97, went home to be with the Lord on April 12, 2016. 

Born in Akron, he was a life resident of Suffield. Bob was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, stationed at Lakehurst, New Jersey with the Lighter-than-Air Operations. He was employed with Christenson Construction in Kent, Ohio retiring as General Superintendent. Bob was a lifetime member of Suffield United Church of Christ, where he served on Consistory. He was Suffield’s first Zoning Inspector, and was a Boy Scout leader for over 20 years with Troop 267. In his spare time, Bob was an avid outdoorsman. 

Preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Janet; and parents, C. Thomas and Johnnie Clark, he is survived by children, Lauren (Randa) Clark, Tom (Sandy) Clark, Becky (Bill) Phares and Doug (Debi) Clark; grandchildren, Kristine (Rob) Lassiter, Christopher Clark, Jeremy (Kristi) Drake, Jennifer (Jimmy) Dobscha, Mandi (Josh) Faris, Veronica Clark and Abigail Clark; and ten great-grandchildren. 

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday, 1 p.m. at Suffield United Church of Christ, 1115 State Route 43, Suffield, Ohio 44260, with Pastor Gary R. Friend officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until service time Friday. Inurnment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park.
