Robert L. Brown, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, born October 6, 1938, passed away on August 25, 2016 and joined his parents, Minnie and Charles Brown; brothers, Albert, Stanley; and sisters, Alice McDonald and Betsy Barnette in Heaven.
Dad loved Christ and walked in faith. He leaves wife, Mary (Noffsinger), whom he loved above all others through 55 years of marriage. He also leaves his loving sons, Doug, Rob, Dan and Joe; as well as his caring daughters-in-law, Ann-Marie and Linda. He took special pride in and loved his grandchildren, Matt, Adam, Erik, Logan, Rory and Emma; his numerous nieces, nephews, and his best friends, Jim Olson, Alan Barbour and Mick Viland.
Dad graduated from Ellet High School, served three years in the Army and retired from AC&Y, Norfolk Southern Railroad with 32 years of service. He coached peewee, bantam and 9th grade football. Dad’s love of football was evident to all who knew him. He was a faithful follower of Ohio State and St. V and any team his boys were on or coaching.
Dad, we all love you and will miss you until we meet again.
“Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us,
Footprints on the sands of time.”
