Robert V. Brouse

Robert V. Brouse, 89 years, passed away September 6, 2012.

Bob was born in Akron, and graduated from South High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and lived the past 55 years in Mogadore. Bob was employed in furniture sales at the downtown O’Neil’s for 35 years and had been a loving caretaker for his wife. He was a lifelong member of St. John/St. Paul Lutheran Church, and loved all sports, especially Mogadore, Mt. Union, Ohio State, Browns, Cavs, and his favorite, the Cleveland Indians.

Preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Margaret A. in 2011; son, Randy A. in 2008; and brother, Willis Brouse. He is survived by son, Rick (Linda) of Fairlawn, Ohio and their children, Andy (Bev) and their children, Lydia and Millie, and Michael (Ashley); daughter, Debi (Jeff) Reed of Mogadore; daughter-in-law, Sue Brouse and her son, Pete (Corie) Walker and their children, Libby and Lincoln; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Funeral service will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at St. John/St. Paul Lutheran Church, 282 W. Bowery Street, Akron, Ohio 44307 with Pastor Rick Gordon officiating. There will be a luncheon served immediately after the services at the church. Graveside services and burial will take place 1:30 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Avenue (Route 532), Mogadore, Ohio 44260.
