Richard L. Wilson, age 61, passed away on June 13, 2018 after a long battle with heart disease.
Born in Winchester, Va., he lived in Suffield most of his life. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and enjoyed walking at the Tallmadge Recreation Center where he had many friends. He loved cooking, working in his vegetable garden, campfires, picnics, and going to the family cabin in West Virginia. Richard also loved “fixing” broken items for his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Eileen Wilson; brother, Terry; and brother-in-law, Domenic Pizzoferrato, he is survived by his brothers, David (Alpana), Brian (Becky) and Ron (Susan); sister, Joy; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He also leaves his two best pals, his pugs, Cody and Lucy.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville. The family suggests memorials to The Wilson Club to maintain the family cabin; or to GentleBrook, 880 Sunnyside Street SW, Hartville, OH 44632.
