Richard Joseph Schuck (Rich)

Richard Joseph Schuck (Rich), age 90, passed away on December 24, 2017. Rich was born on March 4, 1927 to Mary (Bauer) and Henry J. Schuck in Hartville, Ohio. He resided in the Randolph/St. Joe area his entire life. He proudly served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Rich married Pat (Conner) on August 7, 1948 and was married for 59 years until her death on January 1, 2008. He worked at Cornwell Tool in Mogadore, Ohio for 23 years, but was well known for operating Schuck’s Sunoco for 20+ years in Randolph, Ohio with his son, Mike. Rich will be greatly missed by his children, Mike (Linda) Schuck, Denise Schuck Brightbill and Marijane Schuck (Steve Smith); five grandchildren, Rick (Jamie) Brightbill, Danny (Whitney) Brightbill, Joey (Ashley) Brightbill, Lauren Schuck and Ryan (Rochelle) Schuck; eight great-grandchildren; his siblings, Jacki (Norm) Gillis, Ruth (Jerry) Sawyer, Dan (Bonnie) Schuck, Ron (Joyce) Schuck and John Schuck; plus many nieces and nephews. He is well remembered for his easy smile, storytelling, and being seen driving his golf cart around the St. Joe area with his dog. He enjoyed and valued his friends, young and old, and seeing them on his daily visits to Bob’s Pizza in Randolph, Ohio. A special thank you to his neighbors for all their help when his health was declining. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Road, Mogadore, Ohio 44260 with Father Thomas Acker, S.J. presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, where Mogadore VFW will provide military honors. Friends and family will be received at the church prior to the service on Saturday, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The family suggests memorials to the Randolph Fire Department, 1639 State Route 44, Randolph, OH 44260; or the Food Shelf at St. Joseph Catholic Church at the address above.
