Richard (Rick) J. Keathley, age 61, passed away at his home on September 27, 2021.
Rick was born in Akron, Ohio. He was preceded in death by mother Dorothy (Longstreth) Keathley and Jim Keathley (older brother). He is survived by father, Floyd Keathley; siblings, Sheri (Mike) Jackson, Lori Flowers, Cindi (Bill) Holderbaum, Karen (Tony) Manna, and Tom (Sara) Keathley; In-laws, Harold and Gail Milhoan, Mark Milhoan, Denise Lasko, Debra Grow, Dana Monroe, and Matt (Wendy) Milhoan; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; relatives; and many life-long friends.
He was a graduate of Ellet High School in 1978 and married the love of his life, Diana Milhoan, in 1988. He was blessed with two children, Cody (Jessica) and Kayla (Dillion McPherson), and two granddaughters, Vivian and Harper.
Rick was always known as a cheerful, loyal individual who would do anything for his family and friends. He had a love for camping, hunting, yard-sale shopping, and building things with his own hands. If there was one thing Rick was most passionate about it was his love for the ocean, and his hope to have a beach condo one day. He was considered a jack of all trades and worked as a furniture salesman, carpenter, driver's education teacher, shipping coordinator, air spring and tire builder for Goodyear, operations general, and building maintenance worker.
The calling hours for Rick will be held Monday, October 4, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at St. Matthew Parish Catholic Church, 2603 Benton Ave. Akron OH 44312. A funeral mass will also be held at St. Matthew's at 4:30 p.m., following calling hours.
