Richard J. Piccin, 73, passed away unexpectedly on March 3, 2022.
Richard was born on May 23, 1948 in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He grew up and attended schools in Dillonvale, Ohio where his love of sports and the outdoors began. Following graduation from Kent State in 1971, he was a dedicated employee of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for over 40 years. He has been a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Uniontown since 1979. Being a Eucharistic minister at church and to the homebound was special to him. But most importantly, he was a wonderful loving husband, father, and grandfather of four. They gave him a tremendous amount of love and joy daily.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lena Piccin. He will be missed by his wife of 49 years, Micheline; daughters, Amy and Kerrie; son-in-law, Ed; four grandchildren; and the R.E. Benczo family.
Friends and family will be received Tuesday, March 8th, from 3 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, March 9th, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hopkins Lawver UNIONTOWN Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Avenue), Uniontown, Ohio 44685. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 9th at 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2952 Edison St. NW, Uniontown, OH 44685. He will be laid to rest at Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain, Belmont County, Ohio.
